Sin, Suffering and Salvation

In this episode, I dive into the Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans (KJV) where Paul’s overall message is how salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone: not in our good works, nor who we are, but by our faith in Him. I elaborate on Paul’s Epistle as it profoundly breaks down God’s righteousness in four parts throughout the book: how His righteousness is needed by us, how it is provided by Him, how it is justified and how it is to be practiced.

With God’s righteousness highlighted, that brings the topic of sin to the forefront of this episode — how we are sinful creatures by nature and therefore cannot save ourselves from the sin in which we are born into physically, which is why we must be willing to be born again spiritually in Christ.

I invite both believers and non-believers alike to tune in, as there is something in this message for all of us.

As Christians, this episode serves as a reminder that we are no better than any unsaved person, for we are just as ungodly in our flesh, and with that, to remember that even in our walk with Christ we will still struggle with hardship, pain and temptation.

For non-believers, it is an inquiry of how well your self-authority has been working for you in terms of your suffering and invites you to consider how your lack of faith in God still requires your faith in the disbelief, therefore you do have the capacity of faith to place in Him after all.

While being resurrected in Christ does not make us sinless, it does free us of the bondage of this fallen world because we are no longer living for the flesh, but for the Father. Thus, we are resurrected from the death of sin our body provides and made new in our spirit from what His righteousness provides. Suffering may not always be our choice in this human experience, but our salvation in Christ always is, because He has given it to us freely for the taken.

Although God does not promise us an easy life, He does indeed promise us eternal life.

Romans 8:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
